Three NYPD cops driving to Ohio to pay their respects to a fallen K9 killed in the line of duty last week are being credited with helping save a wheelchair-bound woman involved in a major vehicle accident.
The officers came upon an overturned ambulette (a vehicle designed to transport disable or wheelchair-bound patients) on Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania.
The New York cops immediately stopped to help and soon discovered a patient trapped inside the vehicle. The officers broke one of the car windows and then used a knife to help free the woman from her wheelchair.
The officers administered first aid and stayed with the woman until paramedics arrived.
