A Houston police officer is recovering after being shot in the leg on Wednesday.
Officer Kenneth Fregia, 45, had just been part of a team of officers that conducted a successful raid on a home in south central Houston when the shooting occurred.
As he stood outside the home speaking with other officers he heard a loud gunshot followed by a sharp pain in his leg.
It was undetermined where the shot came from or who fired it but the chief of police vowed to find the shooter and bring them to justice.
“We will go to all four corners of the earth to hunt you down,” Houston Chief Charles McClellan said at a news conference.
Officer Fregia is expected to recover from his injuries.
