The Las Vegas Metro police are seeking the public's help in identifying a good Samaritan that stopped to help an injured officer earlier this month.
Two officers were ambushed by a gun wielding assailant on September 6. One of the officers was hit in the hand by gunfire as the other officer gave chase to the suspect. An unidentified good Samaritan came upon the scene and rendered first aid to the injured officer.
The suspect was apprehended a short time later but by the time the chaos of the moment had ended, the good Samaritan had already left the scene, unidentified. Police would like the public's help in locating the man so that they can properly thank him.
"We just want to be able to say thank you properly," said Metro Police Officer Jesse Roybal.
