A decorated Georgia police officer was shot and wounded after stopping a vehicle linked to a gun-running investigation.
Officer Marco Vizcarrando, a 19 year veteran of the Dekalb County police department, was shot in the shoulder "through and through" after making the stop. One suspect surrendered on scene and another fled into nearby woods. K9 units tracked the second suspect down and he was taken into custody.
Officer Vizcarrando was the 2012 recipient of the Dekalb County Outstanding Officer award. He was released from the hospital late in the day on Friday.
