Maryland Officer Struck By Suspected DUI Driver Has Life-Threatening Injuries

A police officer in Montgomery County, MD is fighting for his life after being struck by a suspected DUI driver on Thursday night. 

Officer Noah Leotta, 24, was making a traffic stop when another driver crashed into the officer.

The driver of the other vehicle, Luis Gustavo Reluzco, 47, remained on scene and was eventually arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Officer Leotta was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Montgomery County Chief of Police Tom Manger said, “Noah is not only a dedicated young police officer, he is a caring person who became a cop to serve the community where he grew up. He needs everyone’s prayers as he fights for his life."
