Trevone Boykin, the star quarterback for Texas Christian University, has been arrested and suspended from Saturday’s Alamo Bowl following an altercation in downtown San Antonio where the quarterback allegedly struck a police officer.

The incident unfolded in the early morning hours on Thursday at Pat O’s bar in downtown San Antonio.

After Boykin and another patron allegedly exchanged angry words, a physical altercation broke out.

Boykin was removed from the bar; however, when police officers arrived on scene he again became violent and several officers had to take him to the ground in order to take him into custody.

Boykin was booked into the Bexar County Adult Supervision Center and charged with assaulting a public servant. He was released on a $5,000 bond.
