Two Odessa, TX Police Officers Shot, Injured, by Parolee

Two police officers in Odessa, TX were shot and injured while trying to arrest a man for a parole violation on Wednesday. 

Sergeant Pete Gonzalez and Officer Cory Wester were attempting to arrest Roy Daniel Garza, 27, when Garza produced a weapon and shot both of the officers.

Sergeant Gonzalez was shot in the arm and Officer Wester in the chest and leg. Both officers were transported to a local hospital where they were listed in fair condition.

Garza was subsequently taken into custody following a nine-hour standoff and booked on eight counts of attempted capital murder of a peace officer.
