Two Police Officers in Lincoln, Nebraska Injured, One Shot, in Violent Confrontation with Suspect

Two Lincoln, Nebraska police officers were injured and a suspect killed during a violent confrontation on Sunday evening. 

The incident began when two Lincoln police officers spotted a vehicle with a stolen license plate.

When the officers confronted the man in the vehicle, they determined that he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.

As the officers attempted to place the man into custody, he grabbed one of the officers and placed him in a headlock, punching the officer in the head.

The suspect then pulled out a handgun and shot the other officer in the arm. 

Police returned fire, striking the suspect. He was subsequently taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Both officers are expected to survive their injuries.
