The New Orleans Police Department has identified a suspect in the shooting of a Tulane medical student early Friday morning. The chilling incident was caught on tape.
The suspect, identified as Euric Cane, 21, is seen shooting good samaritan Peter Gold, 25, in the stomach after Gold tried to intervene while Cane engaged in an apparent robbery and kidnapping.
In the surveillance video, Cane can be seen trying to shoot Gold twice in the head after shooing him in the stomach; however, Cane's gun appears to have jammed.
Cane fled the scene and Gold was taken to a local hospital, where he is still listed in critical condition.
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu had this to say to Cane: "We know who you are and you need to know that we are going to find you."
The New Orleans Police Department is offering a $12,500 reward for any information leading to Cane's capture.
