Colorado Mourns State Trooper Killed While Investigating Traffic Accident

A Colorado State Trooper was killed on Sunday night while investigating a traffic accident south of Denver.

Trooper Jaimie Jursevics was struck by a passing motorist along southbound Interstate 25. Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, identified as Eric Henderson, 52.

He is under investigation for vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  

CSP Chief Scott Hernandez said, "A senseless act has taken the life of someone who swore to protect Colorado.  We offer our thoughts, prayers and full condolences to her family.  We will grieve with them, and with them we will never forget her sacrifice.”

Trooper Jursevics, 33, was married and the mother of a young child.
