Police officers in the town of Ypsilanti, Michigan, interrupted a kidnapping and robbery after responding to a call of a kidnapping in progress on Monday.
Officers located two men struggling, one of whom had a gun lodged in the abdomen of the other, on the floor of a building in the 900 block of Railroad Street. Officers commanded the man to drop his weapon and the suspect was taken into custody.
Police believe that three men had kidnapped the victim at gunpoint and transported him to a different location to complete a robbery.
"The Ypsilanti Police Department wants to thank those in the community for getting involved after seeing one of their citizenry being victimized, so that we could respond effectively," Ypsilanti police said in a statement.
