Dunkin' Donuts employee latest to refuse service to police officer

A Dunkin' Donuts employee at a West Hartford, CT donut shop is the latest restaurant worker to refuse service to a uniformed police officer. 

This incident occurred on Saturday when a West Hartford police officer was waiting in line to make his order. He overheard one of the employees say, "We don't serve cops here."

The officer left the restaurant after being refused service. The employee in question apparently apologized to the officer and stated that it was just a joke; however, local resident were unamused. 

Dozens of people have gone to social media to demand the firing of the employee and to protest the restaurant chain.

The restaurant has responded to the outrage, apologizing, "The crew member exhibited poor judgement & the franchisee has apologized to the police officer on behalf of Dunkin' Donuts."
