NYPD Endures Most Officers Shot and Killed On-Duty Since 1989

The New York Post reported that the NYPD is suffering through its worst year of fatal shootings of on-duty officers since 1989.

Four NYPD officers have been killed in the line of duty in the past ten months.

This past week, Officer Randolph Holder was gunned down while pursuing a robbery suspect. His death followed the killings of Officer Brian Moore in May and Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos in a December ambush.

Similarly, four NYPD officers were shot and killed in 1989.
