Albuquerque Police Officer, Former Army Paratrooper, in Critical Condition After Being Shot During Traffic Stop

Albuquerque police officer Daniel Webster, a nine-year veteran of the department and former Army paratrooper, was shot multiple times after pulling over a motorcycle in a traffic stop on Wednesday evening.

He remains in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.

Davon Lymon, 34, has been arrested in connection with the shooting. Charges of attempted murder on a police officer against Lymon are anticipated.

Lymon was previously convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the 2001 killing of a 20-year old man. After being paroled in 2011, Lymon was re-arrested on a parole violation in 2013.

"For me, this is a terrible day. A terrible day," said Gordon Eden, Albuquerque police chief.
