Woman Arrested For Third Time After Repeated Attempts to Scale White House Fence

A Washington woman was arrested over the weekend after attempting to scale the security fence at the White House.

It was determined that she was the same woman who had twice previously been arrested for attempting a similar feat and violating a court order to stay away from the White House complex.

Marci Anderson Wahl, 38, was arrested by the Secret Service on the south side of the White House, near the Treasury Building, early Sunday morning.

She is the same suspect who had also tried to scale a security fence on March 21. In the wake of that incident she was issued a "stay away" order.

An NFL player with the Chicago Bears was tasered and cited for multiple misdemeanors after allegedly spitting in the face of police officers during an altercation at an Iowa bar early Sunday.

Officers had responded to the Sharky's Funhouse bar in Waterloo just after midnight when they discovered Bears' cornerback Deiondre' Hall allegedly yelling profanities at patrons and bar staff.

When officers attempted to contact Hall, 22, he allegedly spat in the face of the officers and resisted arrest.

He had to be tasered in the leg as officers attempted to get him under control.

Hall was ultimately cited for three misdemeanors; public intoxication, interfering with "official acts," and disorderly conflict.

Green Bay Packers cornerback Makinton Dorleant was also cited in the incident, allegedly for approaching officers "in a threatening manner: while they attempted to arrest Hall.

Officers from the Port Authority Walkway Patrol saved a woman from jumping off of the George Washington Bridge on Sunday afternoon, preventing the 38-year old New Jersey woman from climbing over the rails.

The incident unfolded after officers noticed the woman, dressed inappropriately for the weather and asking odd questions about the depth of the water below, along the bridge walkway.

After engaging her for some time, the woman allegedly attempted to make a leap for the rails.

Officers were able to convince the woman not to jump and she was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Mom Sends Cops Thank You Letter After Arresting Daughter on Spring Break

A grateful mother wrote a note to police officers in Walton County, Florida after they arrested her daughter for underage drinking.

The 19-year old woman was apparently drinking on a beach and when confronted by officers provided a fake ID.

The young woman's mother was thankful for the officer's actions and sent the department a letter to let them know.

In the note, the unnamed mother stated, "In this day, ‘cops’ are getting a bad rap. So, I wanted to say ‘thank you’. Yesterday, my daughter was one of the thousands of spoiled spring breakers “living it up” on the beach. She got arrested for underage drinking."

She continued, "The arrest scared the HELL out of her and I’m hoping she learned her lesson. The reason that I am sending this is that every officer that I talked to or that I could hear in the back ground talking to her was so nice!"

Congress Skeptical of FBI's Use of Facial-Recognition Software

A tense exchange between law makers and law enforcement officials took place on Wednesday as a discussion over the FBI's facial-recognition practices took place.

Members of the House Oversight Committee asked FBI officials about the extent of their use of facial-recognition data, with one congressman even comparing the FBI's practice to that of the Nazis.

"This is really Nazi Germany here that we’re talking about. They had meticulous files on individuals, most of them of Jewish faith, and that’s how they tracked their people. I see little difference in the way people are being tracked under this," said Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA).

Both sides of the political aisle cast a skeptical eye on the technology with some concerned over it's use against minority populations and others simply worried about the extent of the FBI's database.
